DogGo! - A Dog Walking App
Dog owners want to provide reliable walking service and care for their dogs, especially while they’re away. The goal of this project was to build trust within an app interface that connects dog owners and the best dog walkers. Team work included: affinity mapping, initial ideation, peer review and critique. My role was to conduct user research to discover pain points and their remedies and then use the findings to inform the visual design, interface, and experience of a mobile app.

Research
Several dog owners were interviewed to discover their pain points when trusting the care of their dogs to others – here are some key highlights from my findings:
Using the information gathered, a persona was developed in order to create an understanding of, and empathy for, the end user.
Ideate
With the persona defined, certain features can be prioritized based on how well they address their needs.
As our persona is busy with an unpredictable work schedule, the app should be intuitive and allow for decisions to be made quickly with little resistance and low barrier to entry.
Features such as a “live walk” notification, “Go! Quick Walk” button, and a minimal dashboard provide information and services where they’re needed without overloading the end user.
Wireframing helped to visualize the app’s hierarchy of needs and act as a framework for building out core features. User flow diagrams were mapped in order to ensure the app’s pathing was compatible with our persona.
